Emergency Closure
Marsh Hill Primary School will make every effort to keep the school open.
Sometimes, during bad weather, we may find it hard to remain open as we must consider the health and safety of all pupils, families and staff, conditions of the site and other emergencies. A decision about whether to open the site will be made by the Head Teacher and the Chair of Governors in the best interest of the children.
Often the decision to close the centre school only take place on the morning which may present difficulties to families to find child care at short notice. We will endeavour to make the decision early and make a groupcall message to all parents/ carers and update our website with the information
We will inform Birmingham City Council of the decision to close and this can be accessed via their website here.
School Closure will also be announced on the following radio stations:
- Free Radio (96.4FM) http://www.freeradio.co.uk/news/schools/
- Heart (100.7FM) http://www.heart.co.uk/westmids/news/school-closures/
- Radio WM (95.6FM) http://www.bbc.co.uk/birmingham/local_radio
We may also need to follow our lockdown procedures in the case of a local area emergency, meaning that children will remain on site. If this does happen, we will contact you via a text message when it is safe for you to come to school to collect your child.
Please ensure your contact details are kept up to date to enable us to keep you informed of any closures, the same procedure will be followed in the event of any closures.
